How to Play

Play Stone Merge game online for free. Stone Merge is fun modern number block puzzle game where you must combine two blocks of the same number to merge them into the next higher number. Keep rising blocks from reaching the top or it's game over. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • Select “PLAY” to begin the game. This will take you to the game difficulty mode screen.
    • You can choose from three difficulty modes.
      • Easy – Starts with 2 rows or stone blocks ranging from 1 to 5. The time before a row of blocks is added is slow.
      • Medium – starts with 2 rows of stone blocks ranging from 1 to 9. The time before a row of blocks is added is moderate.
      • Hard – starts with 2 rows of stone blocks ranging from 1 to 13. The time before a row of blocks is added is fast.
      • Once you select a mode, the game starts promptly.
      • The game saves your progress on the local web browser. This means it keeps a record of your best score.
      • Game Controls
        • Touchscreen
          • Using your finger, simply tap and drag a stone block to merge with another block of the same number.
          • If the block is right beside the same number block, simply tap and slide it into that block.
          • Once two blocks of the same numbers merge, the resulting block will be the next higher number.
          • Fore example, if you merge 10 and 10, the resulting block will be 11. If you merge 4 and 4, the resulting block will 5.
          • Stone blocks of different numbers will not merge. Only blocks of the same number will merge.
          • To move blocks out of the way, tap the block and drag it to the position where you want it to move.
          • Keep merging and moving blocks to keep them from reaching the top of the screen.
            • Mouse
              • Using your mouse cursor, left left click and drag a stone block to merge with another block of the same number
              • If two blocks of the same number are right beside each other, just click and drag one block into the other.
              • When two block of the same numbers merge, the resulting block will be the next higher number.
              • Fore example, if you merge 10 and 10, the resulting block will be 11. If you merge 4 and 4, the resulting block will 5.
              • Stone blocks of different numbers will not merge. Only blocks of the same number will merge.
              • To move blocks out of the way, click the block and slowly drag it to the position where you want it to move.
                • Keep merging and moving blocks to prevent them from reaching the top of the screen.
                • In-Game Interface
                  • Scores are displayed on the top of the screen.
                  • On the upper left side is the current score. This gets higher every time you merge blocks.
                  • On the upper right side is the best score. This is a record of the highest score played in the game.
                  • Pausing the Game
                    • To pause the game, select the “X” button on the top right corner of the screen.
                    • Once paused, you can choose from other available game options (from left to right):
                      • The 1st icon is the the settings button. Select this to go back to the opening screen.
                      • The 2nd icon is the play button. Simply select this to resume playing your game.
                      • The 3rd icon is the reset button. Select it if you want to play a new game with the same mode.
                      • The 4th icon is the audio button. Select this to mute or unmute the game’s music and sound effects.
                      • Strategy
                        • This is an exciting endless vertical number block puzzle game where you must merge blocks of the same number to keep the rising blocks from reaching the top of the screen.
                        • Blocks of the same number also have the same color. So it’s easy to tell whether you can merge a block with another one or not.
                        • What’s challenging about the game is trying to merge numbers that are far apart and covered by other blocks.
                        • You must move the other blocks fast enough to merge the covered blocks. You also risk moving blocks higher. So try to move blocks lower if you need to uncover a block.
                        • Another challenging aspect is the growing number of the block. The more you merge blocks, the higher your block number grows.
                        • While higher number blocks appear as you play longer, these may be scattered and too hard to reach for your block to merge.
                          • As a tip, always merge blocks that are side by side. This clears up space the fastest.
                          • Look for same number blocks from the bottom of the screen up. It’s easy to overlook mergeable blocks from below.
                          • Focus on clearing blocks that are common. Try to clear blocks before they cover half of the screen.
                          • The higher your blocks get, the harder it is to merge with covered blocks.
                          • It’s trickier to drag blocks that are farther apart. Focus on merging blocks that are closer together. Your mouse or finger may drop the block and put it back where you started.
                          • Enjoy playing this endless number block puzzle game. To take things further, try to beat your best score every time you play the game.
