How to Play

Play Master Qwan's Mahjongg online for free. Maste Qwan's Mahjongg is a timed Mahjong Solitaire game where players have 20 minutes to beat as many levels and match as many open tile pairs as they can. Choose to play from 54 different board layouts or let the computer select the level designs for you. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button on the left side of the game’s welcome screen to begin play.
Under the Play button are buttons to read gameplay help advice, view your high scores, and play other games on our site.
The welcome screen has a language select dropdown in the lower left corner.
The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for social sharing and game developer information.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select an open tile then select an identically matching tile.
  - Any open season tile can be matched with any other open season tile.
  - Any open flower tile can be matched with any other open flower tile.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the screen with a finger to select an open tile then select an identically matching tile.
    - Controls & indicators
      - Controls are in the right side of the game.
        At the top of the right column it shows your cumulative game score & remaining play time.
        Next there are 4 buttons to pause the game, switch to full screen play mode, control game sounds, and control game music.
        In the bottom right there are 3 buttons to shuffle tiles, select board layouts, or change the game backgrounds.
        You can shuffle tiles an unlimited number of times, but each time you do it costs you points.
        There are 54 different board layouts you can choose to play.
        There are 6 different game backgrounds you can choose to play including wood, colored cotton, stone, flowers, leaves, and wooden patterns.
        Game Play
        Open stones
        In most Mahjong Solitaire games a stone (or tile) is considered open if there is no tile directly on top of it & at least one of its left or right sides is open.
        You know a stone is open if it turns red when you select it, or if it pairs off with another identical stone you have already selected.
        The game does not show how many open moves are available, but whenever all available moves have been used up the tiles automatically shuffle.
        Tiles must match identically with the exception of season or flower tiles.
        Any open flower tile can match with another open flower tile.
        Any open season tile can match with another open season tile.
        Matching strategy
        Whenever possible it is best to match stones with which are in the widest columns or tallest columns first so that you open up the playing field and give yourself more playing options.
        If you see two of the same stone to the side of each other it can be helpful to pair one of them off with another stone to open up the other.
        If you get stuck for a period of time consider using the tile shuffle button as you only get 20 minutes total.
        Levels
        This game has 54 different board layouts you can choose to play through manually, or you can play whichever ones are chosen for you.
        As you play through the game the level designs will change each time you clear a board.
        When you beat a level your game timer retains the same value to start the next level.
        You start the game with a 20 minute time limit.
        If it took you 8:30 to beat the first level then you will have 11:30 remaining to beat the second level.
        If beating the second level then took you 6:20 you would have 2:10 left for the third level.
        Levels are complete when the board is clear of tiles, or when the only matching pair of tiles which remains is in a single stack on top of each other & shuffling titles will not allow any open pairs to be surfaced.
        Levels have 144 tiles or 72 matching pair on them.
        Scoring
        Your game score is cumulative across levels.
        Each pair of stones you match is worth 100 points.
        Using a shuffle costs you 200 points.
        Each board you clear is good for a 5,000 point level clear bonus.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
