How to Play

Play Supermarket Numbers online for free. Supermarket Numbers is a timed 10-stage arithmetic practice game where you must reach the desired sums shown on the upper left corner of the screen. Assemble the sum by selecting numbers on the field. Keep making sums until you fill up the meter. Fill the meter to 100 percent before the timer runs out to move on to the next level. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

                    • Levels
                      • Levels are unlocked sequentially. You start a new game at the first level.
                      • Each time you finish one level, you can automatically proceed to the next one.
                      • If you reload the game, you can choose to play from the last level you finish or play the game from the beginning.
                      • There is no level select screen which enables you to replay an earlier level unless you start the game over from the first level.
                      • Early levels only have a few stones on the board when the levels begin, whereas later levels start off more full, making it important for you to make quick moves early in the later levels.
                      • The first level consists of addition, but as you progress through the game other arithmetic operators are added including subtraction, division, and multiplication.
                      • Levels are timed
                      • Basic rules
                        • Form the number shown on the top left by creating chains of numbers picked out from the center field.
                          • Once you’ve completed the target sum, the component parts disappear.
                          • You can pick as many or as few numbers as you can.
                          • As the level progresses, the game drops more numbers onto the field.
                          • Keep creating numbers until you fill up the meter on the right side of the screen.
                          • Although the game is an addition game, it also features negative numbers (indicating subtraction), denominators (indicating division), and multipliers.
                            • Multipliers and denominators affect the number immediately to the left of them, not the entire sum:
                              • e.g. 9 + 1 x 2 is interpreted as 9 + (1 x 2)
                              • You must use a number to the left of a stone with a multiplier or divisor on it so that the equation can use the operator on another number.
                              • You can’t start your sequence with a stone which has a multiplication or division operator on it.
                              • You could use division cells just like multiplication. For example, if your goal was to reach 1 and you did not have any 1 stones then 4 / 2 / 2 = 1.
                              • Fill up the meter before the timer runs out.
                                • You start with 2 minutes on the clock on the first level.
                                • Later levels have more time. The second level has 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
                                • Flame power up
                                  • Select the flame power, then select another number up to clear as many numbers as you can from the screen.
                                  • Use this to gain bonus points.
                                  • Save the flame power up for reaching larger numbers which are hard to reach.
                                    • Strategy
                                      • All numbers you must reach are positive, but some of the stones are negative. This means that if you try to precisely match the equations your stone collection can fill up with negative numbers.
                                      • Try to save your 9 cells for use when multiplying against other numbers to get the most bang for your buck on your multiplication cells.
                                      • You can use multiple multiplication stones in a row to further boost their efficacy.
                                        • For example 9 X 2 X 5 = 90.
                                        • If you had to reach 68 and use the above multiplication to reach 90 you can then select many of the subtraction stones to clear them from the board and subtract down to that lower target amount.
                                        • General stone strategies
                                          • We suggest using the multiplication stones to multiply 9 or even using multiple consecutive multiplication stones.
                                          • Save 9 stones for multiplying.
                                          • Don’t be afraid to go over the target number and subtract down.
                                          • We generally avoided using the division cells.
                                          • Save flame power ups for reaching large integers when you have few multiplication cells.
                                          • Falling tiles
                                            • If the board fills up with tiles it is game over.
                                            • In later levels the board starts quite full, so you have to make early moves to clear out tiles quickly and make more room.
                                            • Tiles tend to fall at a fairly consistent speed, however if you clear the board of almost all tiles then there is a catch up where many tiles drop in a short duration.
                                              • If you board fills with negative tiles and division tiles it can be hard to multiply or add your way to the target goal, so it is best to use the subtraction tiles before they dominate your total inventory, thus enabling you to make more plays & have tiles fall faster with more addition or multiplication tiles.
                                              • Scoring
                                                • Each number you connect is worth 30 points.
                                                • The longer your chain of numbers, the higher your score.
                                                • You also get 180 points for ever second remaining on the clock.
                                                  • Earlier levels are easier to score high on by finishing the levels quickly.
                                                  • You can add your score to the leaderboard by finishing all the levels or ending a level in a game over.
                                                  • Your game score is cumulative across levels.
                                                  • Target Audience
                                                    • The game is suited for players who like simple math games.
                                                    • The game has no adult themed content.
